Have you ever feel lonely when you are traveling by yourself? Well one easy way to solve your loneliness is by staying at youth hostels. At youth hostels you can meet all sorts of people, and you bound to find somebody that is going the same direction.
At our youth hostel in Kashgar, we made all sorts of friends. Everywhere we turned was our friends. We would go up to them and say hi, and that is how a conversation would start. They would tell us about themselves and we would tell them about us. Some conversation would last a few hours and some just a few minutes. When we come back to our hostel we were bombarded with people. We would be speaking to this person then once we turn around we would be talking with another.
At this youth hostel we also encountered lots of people who just met and are traveling to the same place together. For example, we were this animal market which only opens at Sunday. After touring that market, we were trying to find a tuk tuk to take us back to our hostel. While trying to catch a ride, we met a couple from Switzerland. Thus we went to talk to them and found out they were also from the hostel we were staying at! In the end we shared a tuk tuk ride with them. So if your traveling by yourself, you probably can find a buddy at a youth hostel since people tend to travel around the same area.
One of my favorite part of youth hostels is meeting the people. Some of them are so unique and different. For example, there was this German couple who has been cycling the Silk Road for about 10 months already, and a Netherlands guy named Hank who taught us how to make a stove out of an aluminum can. At the hostel, most people we met were all traveling for a year–some on bikes and some backpacking. Usually they also would be going the same rout like us too!
Going to youth hostel is a great way to hear bountiful adventure stories. At the youth hostel you can definitely find interesting people to travel with. Youth hostel is a great way to bond with people that are similar to you.
