We couldn’t communicate with words, But by actions I learned what words couldn’t say— “Try this!” “Try that. “This is for you to remember us by.” You showed me that hospitality grows from generosity, A loving heart and willing hands is all that is necessary. A wide smile connects heart to heart. A small gift bonded you and me.
I always thought conversations form the bedrock of friendships, A commons language is the key to know and get to know. But now I know that I was wrong. Hospitality requires no language, Just an open heart to give, A brave soul to try and A readiness to go.
We like to travel, we like to take pictures, and sometimes we’re a little extra. We bring a little extra laughter, a dash more of adventure, a tad bit more smiles and sunshine where ever we go. Sometimes we’re loud and sometimes we’re dramatic. Each snapshot with the SU’s reflects our extra flare.
No wonder people think kids in China ride pandas to school. There are so many things that get lost in translation. Once I was in a zoo in China and instead of saying “beware of old branches falling”, it said, “beware of old bras falling”. Instead of “caution: slippery floors”, the sign said, “caution: slip carefully”.
